Electric level switches are used to set or to break an electric contact in automation installations when reaching a limit of the liquid in a recipient.
Electric level switches are manufactured in two types:
All the parts that are in contact with the working liquid are made of stainless steel of W 1.4541 type.
The case is made of carbon steel, protected by a dye coat.
The switch with tilting float of IEN 1 type is functioning on the principle of modifying the angle of the float rod from the horizontal. The end of the rod, opposite to the float, directly activates the microswitch contact through flexible metallic bellows that do not allow the working liquid to pass into the microswitch case.
The switch with sliding float of IEN 2 type functions by modifying the status of the contact of the “reed” element. This is located in the float guiding and the float passes it by at increasing or decreasing of the level in the recipient.
